Dr. Rassa Abdoll, D.M.D.

 
Dr. Abdoll (pronounced Ab-Doll) is originally from Northern Virginia. He comes from a family with strong ties in the medical field. His brother is a Plastic Surgeon with extensive training in Craniofacial field, and his sister is a General Surgeon resident at the University of Virginia. 
 
Dr. Abdoll attended University of Maryland for undergraduate studies. He then moved to Boston, where he graduated from Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine with a Doctorate in Dental Medicine (D.M.D) in 1996. Upon completion of his D.M.D., he completed his post-doctoral training in Pediatric Dentistry at Boston University with a scholarship granted from the United States Air Force.

 

After completion of his residency, he served a three-year active duty tour with the United States Air Force in Okinawa, Japan and returning to Virginia, Langley Air Force Base for his last tour. While on active duty, for his dedication and service to the military, he was awarded two Achievement Medals for Meritorious Services. While stationed at Langley Air Force Base, he held a faculty position teaching military dental residents the full spectrum on pediatric dentistry.

Dr. Abdolls training includes: comprehensive pediatric dentistry, pediatric emergencies, parental and patient education with preventive measures, behavior management/ modification of the fearful or anxious patient, treating patients with special needs, full orthodontics, including space management and appliance therapy, periodontal, endodontics, pediatric oral surgery, sedations and hospital dentistry.

 

Dr. Abdoll stays abreast of the latest dental developments by attending many continuing educational seminars and has lectured to numerous military dentists while on active duty. He takes great pride in providing his patients with outstanding care and the latest in pediatric dental technology.
 
Dr. Abdoll attends health fairs, schools, churches, works with different charity organizations, and participates in community out reach programs, does free screenings and spreads the word on the importance of dental health.
 
Dr. Abdoll enjoys all sports, music, and most of all spending time with his family. Dr. Abdoll and his wife Karla have two children.

Dr. Romona Davis D.D.S.
 

Dr. Davis is a native Texan born in Galveston. Dr. Davis attended undergraduate studies at Texas A&M university on a four year scholarship and earned a B.S. in biomedical science. She graduated from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio(UTHSCSA) Dental School with a doctorate of Dental Surgery (D.D.S) in 1999. Upon completion of her D.D.S., Dr. Davis moved to Washington, D.C, where she completed her post-doctoral training in Pediatric Dentistry at Howard University College of Dentistry.

 

After completion of her pediatric dental residency in 2001, Dr. Davis returned to San Antonio, Texas where she taught for five years as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatric Dentistry at UTHSCSA Dental School. As an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Davis provided outpatient care, taught pre-doctoral dental students and pediatric dental residents, lectured on myriad of topics including Local anesthesia in the pediatric dental patient, and served as a course director in Pediatric Oral and Maxillofacial pathology. Dr Davis also worked for three years to serve mostly low-income, uninsured patients at the non-profit Gateway Community Health Clinic, in Laredo Texas.
 

For her dedication and service to the Community, Dr. Davis was acknowledged as a role model and featured in March/April 2006 issue of San Antonio Woman magazine and also featured in the 2006-2007 United Way of Laredo Campaign “Taking Care of our Community’.

 

Dr. Davis’ training includes: comprehensive pediatric dentistry, pediatric emergencies, behavior management/modification of the fearful or anxious patient, treating patients with special needs, parental and patient education with preventative measures, space management and appliance therapy, trauma, periodontal, endodontics, pediatric oral surgery, nitrous oxide and oral conscious sedations, and hospital dentistry.

Dr. Sheila Rao  D.M.D 
 
Dr. Rao was born in England. She attended undergraduate studies at University of California, Riverside and earned a B.A. degree in Liberal Studies (psychology major, philosophy minor). She then received her D.M.D. degree from Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine in 1996. Upon completion of her D.M.D. degree, she completed her post-doctoral training in Pediatric Dentistry at Boston University with Dr. Abdoll.
 
After completion of her residency, Dr. Rao practiced in Massachusetts for 6 years. She then moved to Louisville, Kentucky with her husband so that he could complete a residency program in periodontics.   During that time, she worked in Indiana in private practice part time and as a clinical professor in Pediatric Dentistry at University of Louisville School of Dentistry. Dr. Rao taught predoctoral students and pediatric dental residents. She found it a very rewarding experience.

 

Dr. Rao’s training includes: comprehensive pediatric dentistry, pediatric dental emergencies, preventive education for parents and patients, behavior management / modification of the fearful or anxious patient, treating special needs individuals, space management and appliance therapy, trauma, pediatric oral surgery, and nitrous oxide.

 

Dr. Rao attends many continuing education seminars and continues to teach at University of Louisville. She takes great pride in providing her patients with outstanding care and stays abreast of the latest in pediatric dental technology. She also attends health fairs, schools, and participates in community outreach programs to explain the overall importance of oral health.

 

Dr. Rao enjoys spending time with her husband and her daughter. She loves to travel, spend time with friends and most of all to enjoy life.
